How long does it take to make an umbrella?
We can supply umbrellas as quickly as in a week, but more complex umbrellas take 4-12 weeks to manufacture and supply.
We make umbrellas in different stages, and would depend on the complexity of the umbrella design.
We generally use a standard range of umbrella frames, the umbrella fabric is printed or dyed to requirements and sewn onto the umbrella frames.
How do I arrange a sample umbrella ?
If you would like to make a sample based on your design, just send us email at [email protected] Our design team will discuss with you first and know all what you want, then we could begin to mock up 1 pc sample for you which will be based on your design. It takes about 1-2 weeks to finish them.
If you don’t have any exactly idea, we can send out a model of the sample, usually of an umbrella we have done recently, where we might have ordered a few extra to share as samples. We have plenty of different umbrellas in our showroom we can send out to you quickly. Send us email if you have a specific requirement and we will try and match a sample to your request.
What’s a ‘double canopy umbrella’?
Our vented umbrellas actually look like they have two canopies, but what a ‘double canopy’ actually refers to is an umbrella with a decorative interior lining. We’ve produced umbrellas with everything from cloud prints to bespoke maps on the insie.

What are the benefits of a pongee canopy ?
Pongee is a high quality (190T-T referring to thickness and strength) polyester fabric. Owing to its fantastic water-repellent nature and quick-drying quality, it is perfect for use in umbrella making. Plus, it takes print very well- How convenient!
What are the benefits of the different umbrella frames ?
. Fiberglass: Strong lightweight, with an element of flexibility. Less brittle than wood.
. Aluminum: Lightweight, allows for miniaturization of mechanism in smaller umbrellas.
. Wood: Elegant, traditional and environmentally neutral.
. Carbonite steel: provides great strength and durability in premium umbrellas.
Aren’t all your umbrellas ‘ windproof’ ?
Our umbrellas are tested to withstand gusts of up to 40 mph, and unlike cheaper versions are designed to turn inside and recover. All come with an impressive two year guarantee as standard. Vented umbrellas allow for extra resistance, allowing wind to pass through them, reducing tugging in high wind. However, their 16 panel construction limits branding.
What does’ shadow show through mean’ ?
Umbrella material is very thin and translucent. Shadow show through refers to a technique of using 2 pieces of material an allowing the image the show through, creating a pleasant visual effect.
How many sizes of umbrellas do you offer ?
Our umbrellas are available in three main sizes, Sports, walking and telescopic. It also covers the kid umbrellas too.
What colours do your umbrellas come in ?
We have an extensive range of stock fabric, this we have matched close to pantone references to help selection.
It should be noted that when using a double canopy colour of the fabric can be darkened.
How many water bottles does it take to make a PRET recycled umbrella canopy ?
The number of bottles required to produce recycled polyethylene terephthalate ( PRET ) for an umbrella depends on the size and design of the umbrellas, as well as the type of bottles useds. Generally, it is estimated that around 8 to 12 standard 500 ml plastic bottles are recycled to produce enough PRET fabric for an average-sized umbrellas.
